Frequently asked questions
Is hair transplant surgery painful?⌃
Most patients experience little to no pain during the procedure thanks to local anesthesia. Mild tightness or sensitivity may occur for 1–2 days after surgery but usually subsides quickly.
When can I wash my hair after surgery?⌃
You can gently wash your hair after 2–3 days using mild shampoo and lukewarm water. Avoid rubbing or scratching the transplanted area until the scalp fully heals.
When will new hair start to grow?⌃
Transplanted hair usually starts growing at around 3 months after the procedure. It continues to thicken and achieve full density between 9 to 12 months.
Is it normal for transplanted hairs to fall out after a few weeks?⌃
Yes. Temporary shedding (shock loss) is completely normal and part of the natural regrowth cycle. New permanent hairs will grow back in their place.
Are the results permanent?⌃
Yes. The transplanted follicles are genetically resistant to hair loss and will continue to grow naturally for life with proper care.
What is the difference between incision and non-incision hair transplants?⌃
Incision (FUT) transplants involve removing a strip of scalp, leaving a linear scar. Non-incision (FUE) methods extract individual follicles, minimizing scarring and reducing recovery time.
How soon can I return to work or daily activities?⌃
Most patients return to their usual routines within 2–3 days. Redness and minor swelling may persist for about a week.
Can women also undergo hair transplantation?⌃
Absolutely. Female hairline and temple transplants are designed to naturally lower the forehead line and create a softer facial balance using customized no-shaving FUE techniques.
